After what seemed like forever, Saif Ali Khan starrer Kaalakaandi‘s much awaited trailer is all set to release on December 6 and yes we can’t seem to stay calm. The announcement was made today by the makers in the form of a teaser poster that has the outline of Saif Ali Khan in the infamous vulture avatar that we all got to see in the teaser released earlier this year. To say that we are intrigued would be an understatement given the long wait between the impressive teaser and the trailer that’s all set to launch tomorrow. The 15 second long teaser poster has a song from the film playing in the background and the entire look and feel of it is very interesting and unique, in all its black and pink get up.
After Rangoon and Chef, this will be the third film of the actor that is likely to be out this year. Perhaps, we will get to know the release date tomorrow once the trailer is launched. From the teaser, it was hard to understand if his character is high on drugs, or just high in general as he was seen running and screaming like his life depends on it, driving in full speed to wearing a costume that makes him look like a hawk with yellow wings and do everything and more in a span of just 30 seconds. But it definitely had us psyched. Anyway, before we get to know a little more about his interesting yet confusing character tomorrow, take a look at the teaser poster today. When Saif was asked about the film, he was quoted by a leading daily as saying, “I was thinking about how to approach this role in Kaalakaandi, make it believable and not fall into the trap of playing to the gallery. So, I bought a lot of books to read on acting and techniques etc. A lot of it is academic and homework, but that’s what preparation is all about.”Helmed by Akshat Verma, the film also stars Vijay Raaz, Deepak Dobriyal, Shobita Dhulipala, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Isha Talwar and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles. Produced byCinestaan Film Company and Ashi Dua Sara of Flying Unicorn, Kaalakaandi’ is a thrilling dark comedy that narrates the story of six characters from diverse worlds. A strident narrative about life, death, karma, all encapsulated in one monsoon night in Mumbai, this movie seems way to interesting to miss. It was earlier slated to release on September 8.
