Living legend Kamal Haasan‘s daughter Akshara Haasan, who is best known for her debut in megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starrer film Shamitabh, is grabbing eyeballs for a surprising reason. The actress, who is yet to make her mark in Bollywood, revealed in a recent interview that she, who was an atheist, has now started to grow faith in Buddhism and thus, has converted into Buddhism lately. The actress, who claimed herself to not believe in God, is now spiritually inclined towards this religion.

The actress, unlike her sister Shruti Haasan, wants to become a director. She is looking forward to directing Kamal, Sarika and Shruti Haasan in the future. Akshara has bagged an amazing opportunity to work with Thala Ajith Kumar in his upcoming film Vivegam. The movie is much awaited by Thala fans and this may be her chance to get the much-needed limelight with her role in this flick.

The movie Vivegam has wrapped up the shoot and is now the team is on a promotional spree. It was at one such promotional event of this film in Chennai that Akshara revealed about her now being a Buddhist during a media interaction.

Vivegam is helmed by Siva and is bankrolled under the banner Sathya Jyothi Films, while the music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Vivegam is slated to release on August 10.
