Kangana Ranaut has her hands full, at the moment, with Bollywood projects and is in quite a happy place. In August this year, she is reportedly all set to fly to New Jersey and no it is not for any of her upcoming film projects. She is travelling to attend the ‘Gandhi Going Global’, a two-year long initiative started to spread and popularise the Gandhian philosophy through interactive activities, educational programmes, motivational talks and an amalgamation of cultural events. The celebrated initiative is to take place on August 18 and 19 this year. While Kangana will be representing India, the others who will be present there includes the former First Lady of the United States of America (FLOTUS), Michelle Obama, American advocate Martin Luther King III and media propreitor, taalk show host, philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey.
.When Mirror got in touch with Kangana to ask her about this opportunity, she said, “For me, it’s always been about the impact you make on society and how you contribute to it. Sharing the stage with Michelle and Oprah will be inspiring. I’ve never been anybody’s fan but I admire and idolise women like Oprah. Once I get back to Mumbai, I will know exactly what I will be talking on and for how long, depending on which I will prepare my speech.” The actress has read a lot of books on Mahatma Gandhi while growing up and considers him as one of the greatest minds in the world. Kangana also spoke about her connect with the Father of the Nation, and revealed that her upcoming period drama, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, will promote khadi and will show the Queen of Jhansi weave it on a charkha, which was quite a common phenomenon in those days. Needless to say, Kangana who is known for her impeccable fashion choice, plans to wear Indian for the event.
Not just Manikarnika :The Queen of Jhansi, but the actress is also looking forward to her film, Mental Hai Kya with Rajkummar Rao, in which she will be seen sporting different looks. She is also expected to attend a lot of acting workshops to do a lot of readings for the film. The actress who is currently holidaying in her beautiful bungalow in Manali told the leading tabloid that she will resume shooting for Manikarnika April 6 onwards for seven-eight consecutive days for a few patchwork scenes. Meanwhile, Kangana’s pic playing with her nephew, Prithvi Raj made its way to social media a couple of weeks ago and we must say that the images were too cute to describe in words. Speaking about her nephew she told Mirror, ““I’ve never seen life in such a pure form. His anger and joy, smiles and cries are all so pure. I can stare at him all day.”
