Kangana Ranaut who will be seen in and as Simran this year and as Rani Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika in 2018 is on a career high. The debacle of Rangoon earlier this year is clearly behind her as she surges ahead, adding a new feather to her hat each passing day.

After writing dialogues for Queen and story for Simran, she plans to turn director with Teju next year. She will also star in the film as an 80-year-old. But if you thought this was it, let us assure you this is just the beginning.

Kangana is all set to up her game as an actor and is now planning to start taking profit share for her films. As per the buzz in the industry, the actress is planning to take her collaborations for films to the next level. Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have been taking profit share since years now, much before they launched their own production houses. This ranges anything from 50% to 80% of the profits a film makes. More often than none, this figure is over and above their remuneration as an actor. However, the trend is not new or limited only to the Khans. It is as old as Amitabh Bachchan’s career peak era in the 80s, when the megastar marked distribution territories as his profit share. And it is as new as Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh who opted for profit sharing with Besharam and Bajirao Mastani respectively.

However, none of the Bollywood actresses are known to be cracking such lucrative deals till now. There have been rumours that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took a profit share during Jazbaa, but nothing is confirmed. Looks like, Kangana, is all set to break yet another gender stereotype in Bollywood. More power to her!
