After impressing the Telugu audiences with Chalo, earlier this year, Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna will now star in ‘Dear Comrade’ that also has Pelli Choopulu, Arjun Reddy and Mahanati fame actor Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. In the film, she will be seen essaying the role of his love interest. The actor shared the first look poster on social media on his birthday and captioned it “Mythri Movie Makers. Big Ben Cinemas. & Your Man @Thedeverakonda. Bring you an action drama you will not forget – #DearComrade directed by Bharat Kamma. Shoot starts this June.” Well, we certainly can’t wait for the film to hit screens. However, given that the film is still in the pre-production phase, there’s time for that to happen.

A leading website quoted a source as saying that Vijay Deverakonda’s on screen character is that of a student leader coming from a communist family. Set in the communist region of Kakinada, the film will have the actor speak in the local dialect. Rashmika, on the other hand, will be seen as a cricketer playing for the state of Telangana. Sources close to the actress reveal that she is taking Cricket lessons in Hyderabad at the Cricket Club there for some net sessions. She reportedly wishes to hone her batting skills and learn her fielding techniques.

The film, that’s helmed by Bharat Kamma was initially to be inspired from the Malayalam film Comrade in America aka CIA in which starred Dulquer Salmaan as the lead actor. However, the makers have denied it stating that it isn’t an inspiration. The film has been bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, known for producing a number of super-hit films such as Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Rangasthalam.
