KGF, featuring actors Yash and Srinidhi Shetty is doing wonders at the Box Office. The fifth-day collection of the film is out and it has minted more than the previous four days. The Hindi version of KGF minted Rs. 4.35 crore on Christmas. KGF has crossed the Rs 100 crore worldwide and has become the highest grossing Kannada film in the process. The Hindi version minted Rs 4.35 crore making it a total collection of Rs 16.45 crore.

Film and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle and shared the news and wrote, “#KGF continues its upward trend… Day 5 [] is bigger than Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4, which is a rarity… Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr, Sun 4.10 cr, Mon 2.90 cr, Tue 4.35 cr. Total: ₹ 16.45 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version”.

Earlier, trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted that it has become the first ever Kannada film to cross $300K mark at the USA box officeKGF is getting an overwhelming response in Karnataka and is just behind SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster Baahubali.

The Hindi version of the movie is fighting the box office battle with Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma starrer Zero. The latter seems to have underperformed as per expectation.

KGF stands for Kolar Gold Fields. It is set in the backdrop of the late 70s and early 80s and traces the gold mining activities when the mafia was running the operations in Karnataka’s Kolar region. The movie narrates rags to riches story of a gangster. Along with Yash and Srinidhi, it also features Malavika Avinash, Achyuth Kumar and Anant Nag in crucial roles. The Hindi version got 1,500 screens whereas Kannada version and Telegu version got 400 screens each. The Tamil version was released in 100 screens.
