Irrfan Khan’s ‘Karwaan‘ has got a new release date. The film was earlier slated for a June 1 release but we now hear that the film has been locked for release on August 10. The announcement came on Monday when Taran Adarsh tweeted the same and shared the first look poster with the revised release date on it. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP in association with Ishka Films and marks the Bollywood debut of South Indian sweetheart Dulquer Salmaan, who is fresh off the success of Mahanati. It also stars Mithila Palkar, marking her debut in Bollywood as well.
Sharing the first look of Karwaan, Taran tweeted, “Irrfan, Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar… #Karwaan to release on 10 Aug 2018… Akarsh Khurana directs… Produced by Ronnie Screwvala… Here’s the first look poster.” Dulquer also took to Twitter to share the news with fans. He said, “And finally we are happy to announce a release date for ‘Karwaan’! Coming to a cinema near you on August 10! Cannot wait for you all to watch it.”
The film’s tagline says – ‘three lost souls, two dead bodies and a journey of a lifetime’. Directed by Akarsh Khurana, “Karwaan” tells the story of three oddballs from different walks of life who are thrown together on a somewhat bizarre journey which helps them find normalcy in their lives. It has been shot in Kerala.
This will be the second Irrfan-starrer movie to release since the actor announced he is suffering from a rare disease. “Blackmail” had released after Irrfan made it clear to its producers that the movie shouldn’t suffer due to his condition. The acclaimed actor has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour.
