Yash starrer KGF has been receiving great response from the audience since the first day of its release. Though the film did clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, it still managed to garner huge numbers not just in India but abroad as well. Latest reports suggest that the film has set a huge record by becoming the first ever Kannada film to cross $300K mark at the USA box office.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to his Twitter handle to share the news and wrote, “#KGF hascrossed $300K at the #USA Box Office.. Fastest Kannada Movie to do so..” The film earned around Rs. 18 crore on day one. The numbers increased on day two, collecting around Rs 19.25 crore. It collected a total of Rs 37.25 crore in two days. The film released in five languages. The Hindi version collected a total of Rs 3 crore in two days. In Karnataka, KGF earned Rs 12 crore, in Nizam/Andhra Rs 2.50 crore, in Tamil Nadu Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 50 Lakhs in Kerala.

KGF stars Kannada actor Yash and Srinidhi Shetty in the pivotal roles. The film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale films, and is the first instalment of a two-part series.

KGF is set in the backdrop of the late 70s and early 80s and traces the gold mining activities when the mafia was running the operations in Karnataka’s Kolar region.

Apart from Yash and Srinidhi, the film also stars Achyuth Kumar, Vasishta N Simha and B Suresha. The budget for the film has been put at Rs 80 crore and the background score and all other songs have been composed by Ravi Basrur.
