Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt’s most debated supernatural erotica, Khamoshiyan – Silences Have Secrets has finally hit the cinema halls. The film marks the debut of TV actors Gurmeet Choudhary and hottie Sapna Pabbi and also the director Karan Darra. The trailer of the film looked quite promising and talks about a young, beautiful woman with a creepy past. Ali Fazal plays the male lead in the film that portrays an erotic love triangle between the lead actors. Written by Vikram Bhatt, Khamoshiyan – Silences Have Secrets has a gripping story line and an impacting climax.

The film begins with Kabir (Ali Fazal), a established novelist of one time, desperate to find a chart bursting story for his next novel. Kabir’s quench to find a best story brings him to Kashmir, where he lands at a massive mansion (also a guesthouse). A young creepy woman, Meera (Sapna Pabbi), single-handedly looks after the whole mansion, which belongs to her sick husband. Kabir is smitten by her beauty, but there is something strange about her that stops him from approaching her. After a series of events, Kabir finds out that Meera is being trapped in the house by a evil soul and makes attempts to help his lady love safely out the living hell.

The movie till the end goes with a smooth flow, but if you are witty enough then you might spot some loop holes in the plot. The Bhatt’s have had so much expertise in making horror flicks that they have mastered the skill of keeping the audience gripped to their seats. The eerie moments in the film will surely startle you. The film has been shot in some of the most beautiful locations of Cape Town and Kashmir and will give the viewers an eye candy to watch.

Unlike, other movies you will get to see only limited faces in Khamoshiyan. Ali Fazal has come a long way since his cameo debut in Raju Hirani’s 3 Idiots and still needs to polish his work. Sapna looked quite promising in the promos, however considering the fact that this is her debut film she still fared well. Her awkwardness towards doing intimate scenes could be easily sensed in the film. The small screen’s heartthrob Gurmeet was missing throughout the first half and has lived upto the expectations pretty well. Nontheless, Gurmeet has a limited but a crucial role in the film. Screenplay and editing of the film is average and not par. The songs and music of Khamoshiyan has received positive response from the audience. All the tracks have been rightly placed in the film and will keep you entertained rightly at the low points of the supernatural erotica. The Bhatt’s have given best of their work to the industry in the past and Khamoshiyan cannot definitely be one of them.

Final Verdict: All in all, Khamoshiyan – Silences Have Secrets is a pretty average movie with a blend of romance, action, drama and horror. The movie could have been a chart buster if only the plot had been more powerful. However, considering the fact that there have been no horror good flicks released recently, you can give Khamoshiyan a try this weekend. But if you are planning to watch the film only for Gurmeet Choudhary, then you can give this horror movie a miss since you wont get to see enough of him throughout.
