Kangana Ranaut’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns was a sequel to her 2011 blockbuster Tanu Weds Manu. The filmmakers promoted the sequel with the promise that this 2015 film will be the most ideal sequel ever. Well, Bollywood has had the trend of making sequel for ages now. And while some sequels have impressed the audience, others were duds at the box office. The second instalment of this Kangana Ranaut film has won everyone’s heart with its impressive story line. The makers did live up to the expectations they set for the audience, which is why the movie turned out to be a success at the box office. So much so, that Mumbai Mirror tabloid changed its rating for Tanu Weds Manu Returns seeing the audience reaction!
However, not all filmmakers turn out to be as lucky as Anand L Rai, when it comes to impressing the audience with a sequel. Some makers just make a second part for the sake of making a film. This is one of the reasons why sequels fail at the box office. Here is a list of a few sequels that you can surely afford to give a miss to! In fact, you would not want to go through unnecessary pain and regret by watching these films.
1. The Xpose 2:
Painfully true, Himesh Reshammiya is going to make a comeback with the second part of his torturous film The Xpose. The singer-music director is happy to have a sequel to his so called hit franchise, but believe you me, the audience would not want to go through all the pain once again.
2. Hera Pheri 3:
Scheduled to hit the big screens by December 2015, Hera Pheri 3 was one of the most awaited films. However, the fact that John Abraham has replaced Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan will also be seen in the third instalment is enough to scare the viewers from watching this flick! Right?
3. No Entry Mein Entry:
No Entry was one of the biggest hits of 2005 grossing around Rs 71 crore at the box office across the world. Boney Kapoor is making a sequel to the blockbuster with a sleazy name No Entry Mein Entry. The multi starcast film would have a chaos of stars since Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan will play a double role in the sequel.
4. Housefull 3:
The first and second instalments of the Sajid Khan film had caused enough pain to the viewers, that no one would want to watch the third instalment of Housefull. Moreover, Abhishek Bachchan has joined the cast of Housefull 3. Do you still want more reasons to miss this film?
5. Welcome Back:
John Abraham has replaced the Khiladi once again in the sequel of the 2007 film, Welcome. The movie has the Bigg Boss controversy queen Sambhavna Seth in an item song with John Abraham. We wonder if the movie has more such scary surprises in store for the audience.
6. Kick 2:
If Salman Khan manages to escape the Mumbai High Court’s verdict with regards to his 2002 hit-and-run case, we will get to see this sequel. But would you want to watch more of the stupid stunts that apparently give a Kick to our superstar’s fans any time soon? Or at all?
