Years back, a fresh face had swept her way right through our hearts with her portrayal of the character of Arohi Sharma in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kitni Mohabbat Hai’. Yes, we are talking about Kritika Kamra. With her choices of unconventional roles, she always stood out and never failed to impress us. The actress was away from television for a while and now she is coming back and how! Earlier we had told you how Kritika Kamra has been roped in to play the lead role in the period drama ‘Chandrakanta’, which is a reboot of the 90’s popular serial ‘Chandrakanta’ on Life OK.
And now the actress has revealed the first look of the show in a series of photographs, and well, we have to admit we are bowled over by her look. She looks nothing short of a dream in the pictures and these pictures have just made us all the more excited for the show. This look of hers is very different from the Amrapali influenced clothes worn by Shikha Swaroop 20 years ago in the 90’s version of the show. Bright hues of turquoise blue, hot pink and golden have been replaced by ivory white, lavender and rose gold.
Check out all the pictures of the actress and be ready to be swooned over. (ALSO READ: Kritika Kamra roped in for Chandrakanta by Ekta Kapoor’s rival; How will it affect Kamra’s friendship with the telly queen?)
The show will be aired on Life Ok from the first week of March. It is being helmed by Nikhil Sinha, who is also the name behind popular mythological series ‘Siya Ke Ram’. With the actor and premiere date in place, Life Ok, for now, seems to have beaten rival channel Colors, which is also gearing up for its own remake of Chandrakanta by Balaji Telefilms. Few days ago a 14-second promo of the show had already landed on Life OK, which features the back of a woman, dressed as Princess Chandrakanta. See the promo here:
The Colors show by Balaji Telefilms is said to be in the process of zeroing down its lead actor too. Popular names like Hina Khan and Nia Sharma are said to be in talks with the production house to play the protagonist. The show’s details have been kept under wraps, and there is no information about its premiere date too.
Now it’s your turn to decide which Chandrakanta you like better.
