Remember Jaya Bhattacharya, best known for her role as the villain Payal Mehra in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi — the actress who once ruled the TV scene as one of the leading antagonists? Well, she is back on the silver screen with &TV’s Badho Bahu. She will reportedly be seen essaying an important cameo in the show’s narrative and will bring a lot of drama in the forthcoming episodes.
An insider quoted by MidDay said, “aya will play the role of a social worker Sushma Bua who will try to get Lakhan (Prince Narula) get married to Titli (Kanika Mann). Sarpanch had ordered Lakhan to marry Titli. But Lakhan has asked for a month’s time during which he expects to get Badho (Rytasha Rathore) back in his life.” The makers of the show, added, “The character of Sushma Bua needed a strong performer so we chose Jaya Bhattacharya. She will try to pull Lakha (Prince Narula) and Badho (Rytasha Rathore) apart and try to get Lakha married to Titli (Kanika Mann). The drama will add spice to the show.” For the uninitiated, Badho Bahu is quite a popular TV show with a unique storyline. Not just an important cameo, Jaya also has a distinctive look, which will make her on screen character stand out.
Jaya, who has in the past starred in many shows like Kasam Se, Thapki Pyar Ki, Gangaa, Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and the like, was going through a very rough patch with no job in her hand to support her ailing mother. The actress in a statement to Telly Chakkar had appealed for work in order to get out of the financial crisis she was going through. She was quoted as saying, “My mother has been admitted from 26 November (2017). I am in a deep fix as all my finances are down the drain. Due to a renovation contract for my house, I am currently put up at my rakhi brother’s place. Though there is a lot of liberty in taking decisions and doing things, I don’t have anybody whom I can depend on or whose shoulder I can cry on. I am a strong woman and I have never given up. I will never. But I am in a terrible fix and badly in need of work,” she added. Well, looks like Jaya has persevered through the rough patch and landed herself a project. Here’s wishing her all the success in her work.
