Mohit Suri‘s Malang is performing decently at the Box Office. The film has collected Rs 33.20 crore after earning Rs 3.80 crore on Tuesday. Malang, that features Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani in the lead, has already emerged as the top first-weekend grosser for the former, beating his debut film Aashiqui 2 at the ticket window. If the film continues to fare decently till Friday, the collection won’t be deemed disappointing.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh released the latest Box Office figures for Malang on Twitter and posted, “#Malang is steady on Day 5… It was important to trend well on weekdays and if it continues to maintain on Day 6 and 7, a healthy Week 1 total will be on the cards… Fri 6.71 cr, Sat 8.89 cr, Sun 9.76 cr, Mon 4.04 cr, Tue 3.80 cr. Total: ₹ 33.20 cr. #India biz.” (sic)

The film, which also features Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu in important roles, has got two more days to register a good number after which Love Aaj Kal hits the screens on February 14 as the big Valentine’s Day release this year. There’s a lot of buzz around the film and its lead stars – Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan- have promoted it well among the audience.

There are many factors associated with Love Aaj Kal that can really attract the audience to the theatres. First, the music of the film is already a hit. Second, it’s an Imtiaz Ali directorial and he’s popular for making out-of-the-box romantic movies. Love Aaj Kal is the second film of the same name by Imtiaz. The previous one featured Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead. There’s certain recall value of the title and the audience can trace the same pattern of describing romance across generations in the storyline.
