Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi starring Kangana Ranaut has been revealed its first poster today. The Queen actress plays the role of a warrior queen Rani Laxmi Bai in the film. The poster features Kangana in a fierce and aggressive avatar with a sword in her hand. In the poster, Kangana is seen riding the horse with a child on her back. Filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to share the first poster of the film. He wrote, “#Manikarnika – the queen of Jhansi”.
Sharing the poster of the much-anticipated film, Tanu Weds Manu actress wrote, “Every Country has a hero! Every Legend has a legacy! The Hero of Our Independence. The Warrior, The Queen, The Mother. Rani Lakshmibai’s actual name was Manikarnika but she took the name Lakshmibai after getting married to the Jhansi king Raja Gangadhar Rao Newalkar. Though they did not have a biological child, the couple adopted a six-year-old boy from the Raja’s extended family, a few weeks prior to the king’s death.

The period drama features Atul Kalkarni as Tatya Tope, Sonu Sood as Sadashiv and Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkarbai. The film is slated to release on January 25, 2019.
