In the wake of ongoing #MeToo movement, Reema Kagti Gauri Shinde, Kiran Rao, Konkona Sen Sharma, and other female filmmakers released an official statement saying that they won’t work with the proven offenders. As soon as Konkana shared the post, a Twitter user accused them of hypocrisy saying that Reema is “known to sexually harass Mouni Roy during Gold movie”. This came as a big surprise for everybody. The tweet didn’t go down with Mouni who lashed out at the user stating that she was not harassed.
Mouni took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter and wrote, “I was not harassed on the set of Gold by anyone. Director or otherwise. I wish this maligning would stop as it not only harassing me and Reema Kagti but also taking away from women that have truly been wronged.@konkonas @rachitmehrotra.”

After becoming a popular face of the small screen, Mouni made her Bollywood debut with Gold opposite Akshay Kumar. The movie performed well at the box office and also entered the coveted Rs 100 cr club.
After actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment, many women from Bollywood and outside came forward with their #MeToo stories. From Sajid Khan to Alok Nath, big names of the industry have been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment and even rape.
Akshay supported the movement and requested the producers of Housefull 4 to cancel the shooting amid allegations against Nana and Sajid.
Actress Dia Mirza reacted to accusations on Sajid Khan saying that she knew that he was always obnoxious, extremely sexist and ridiculous. She further said that she never invested in a relationship with him even at a workplace. Earlier actress Bipasha Basu also said that she vowed to never work with the filmmaker after Humshakals because of his ‘lewd jokes and comments on the sets’ for women.
