Self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan’s forthcoming film MSG: The Messenger of God  fell prey to censorship issues, after which his followers came out in huge number to support the film. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had stayed the release of MSG on its original release date of January 16 and then January 26. The board has now decided to give a green signal to the rockstar baba’s forthcoming film. MSG will now hit the silver screen on February 13, clashing with Ranbir Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal’s Roy.

The censor board had earlier refused to allow the release of guru Ram Rahim Singh’s MSG for fear that it might incite communal violence. This indeed was sad news for thousands of his followers, but the fact is, MSG has been a butt of social media jokes ever since the trailer was officially released.

But even with the jokes on Twitter, #LoveToSeeMSG13feb has been trending on micro-blogging site, as ardent followers of Ram Rahim Singh are excited about the release. Fans have been raving about the film on Twitter as they await the release of their’s guru’s upcoming flick. Some of the fans have even tweeted about the film to be nominated for the Oscars. Like, seriously?

The story of MSG revolves around Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan who portrays himself to be God. The censor board was unhappy with the plot of the film, which has Ram Rahim performing miracles and curing terminal diseases. This lead to a tussle in the CBFC, with its head Leela Samson quitting over the issue. Bollywood producer Pahlaj Nihalani took over from Samson and has okayed the release of MSG: The Messenger of God.

We wonder how the film will fare as compared to the multi-starrer Roy.
