Arjun and Anil Kapoor have been rewarded for their family entertainer in the box office, after a steady second weekend, sustaining competition against the mammoth release of the Shah Rukh Khan – Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal. Mubarakan was expected to be forgotten in the box office post the release of JHMS, but things are looking the other way around after JHMS failed to impress the majority. In fact, after Friday (August 4) and Saturday (August 5), Mubarakan witnessed a 200 percent increase in collections relative to Friday (August 4), as tweeted by film critic Joginder Tuteja.

As it stands, Mubarakan earned Rs 1.05 crore last Friday. Saturday’s figures doubled as they earned Rs 2 crore, and Sunday saw another spike, bagging Rs 3.03 crore. The collections remained steady given the long weekend and the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, as the film made Rs 2.85 crore, witnessing a drop of only 5.94 percent. This brings the film’s total to Rs 44.59 crore. The makers of the film will be delighted at these scores, as their film stood strong against a Shah Rukh Khan release.

After hilarious films like No Entry, Welcome, Singh is Kinng and Ready, Mubarakan is another rib tickling treat from Anees Bazmee. The film is getting a tremendous response as it is suitable for all age groups. Nowadays, among the many shades of comedy, Mubarakan comes out as a clean and untainted comedy drama with no double meaning jokes, keeping the film suitable for all audiences. Along with Arjun and Anil Kapoor, the film starred Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty in lead roles.
