Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty starrer Mubarakan has a seen a meteoric rise in their box office collections since the opening day. The film earned Rs 5.16 crore on the day of release. Saturday saw an immense rise earning Rs 7.38 cr in the box office after rave reviews of the film. The makers must be delighted with Sunday’s collections, as the numbers further shot to Rs 10.37 crore, bringing the total earnings to whopping Rs 22.91 crore, in just the first weekend of the film.
Arjun Kapoor was dicey about the choice of the film. He told media that he felt “vindicated” as an actor when he decided to do this film. He went on to say he’s happy to have churned out such a film in the short span of his career which is suitable for all audiences. He said it is indeed a very rare thing in a young actor’s life.
