Arjun Kapoor’s Mubarakan finally hit theatres last Friday. The family entertainer which also starred Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Athiya Shetty, Ratna Pathak Shah in key roles was well received by the critics as well as the audiences. Directed by Anees Bazmee, Mubarakan had all the necessary ingredients to be the perfect family entertainer of the year which can be enjoyed with the entire family.
The film though did not open as well as expected at the box office, the collections of the family entertainer picked up well over the weekend. On Day 1, Mubarakan made Rs 5.16 crore, on Day 2, the film witnessed a 40 percent jump in the box office collection of the film as it made Rs 7.38 crore. However, it was the Day 3 collection of the film which changed the game. Mubarakan earned Rs 10.37 crore on Sunday, which was double of what the film made on Day 1. With this, Arjun Kapoor’s family drama made Rs 22.91 crore in the opening weekend.
On Monday too, Mubarakan managed to at the box office as it added another Rs 3.55 crore. With this, the film’s four-day collection now stands at Rs 26.46 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted
Going by the current numbers, the film will have a good week. However, there is a chance that these numbers may get affected on Friday as Shah Rukh Khan – Anushka Sharma’s Jab Harry Met Sejal hits screens. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film was to earlier clash with Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha on August 11.
