Star Plus’s most loved daily soap Naamkaran which features Zain Imam and Aditi Rathore in the lead roles will be going off-air on May 18. The show was released in 2016 and since then it had a huge fan following due to Neil and Avni’s chemistry and the storyline. In the last few months, the rumor of the show going off air is doing rounds but now it has all come true.

Recently, Zain Imam had requested his fans to watch the show on television and not online. The reason behind this was that the show viewership on television was gradually declining which resulted in falling down of the TRP’s which is not in favor of the channel or its makers.

A source associated with the show quoted to the leading daily said, “Speculations have been rife that the show will end soon for some time now but now we have a date. While we have managed to sustain the ratings for long, it’s time to end it on a high rather than dragging the narrative. We plan to wrap up the shoot by the end of this month. While there is no clarity on the last telecast, we’re told May 18 could be it.”

When the leading daily contacted Zain Imam to comment on the shutting down of the show, he said, “I’m not sure about the exact reason but we, too, have been hearing that a lot of shows will be axed. The channel is planning to revamp. Since we’re not leading the slot, they’ve decided to take the show off air. However, I’m happy that the audience liked the show and the feedback, especially for my character, has been encouraging. Besides, I also feel that it’s better to end a show when it’s still doing well. I want to thank my fans for their immense support and love.”

The channel Star Plus is planning to revamp and many shows might go off air such as Ishqbaaz and Ikyawann. As per the reports, the channel might replace these shows with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein spin-off and Yeh Hai Chahate.
