Director Ram Madhvani’s Neerja gives you a taste of terror,by recreating the last day of the 23-year-old Pan Am aircraft attendant. is a happy exception. Although Bollywood biopics fail to recreate the magic onscreen due to the over dramatization, this one is an exception. In this video film critic Anupama Chopra is reviewing a thriller drama film written by Saiwyn Quadras, and directed by Ram Madhvani starring Sonam Kapoor.

The movie immerses you into action and right from the beginning you will be dreaded about the impending collision that is about to take place in the perfect life of young head purser Neerja Bhanot played by Sonam. What makes the lead different in the movie is the fact that Sonam is not playing the obvious heroic character. She is seen facing her fears, struggling with them, and much more but with minimal melodrama. Neerja is constructed as an ordinary woman in extra ordinary situations and how she deals with them bravely.

Anupama Chopra was bowled over by Neerja and says she does not remember the last time she cried so much watching a movie like this. The truth is everyone was afraid of Sonam Kapoor’s performance in the movie just like the film critic, but this time she proved that she is not in the industry just for her impeccable taste in clothes. Neerja is a truly inspiring movie that will grip you from the first frame till the last. She advises viewers to take a few hankies along, since the movie is a genuine weeper. Anupama Chopra gives Neerja a four star rating.Watch Anupama Chopra’s review in the video below.(ALSO READ: 6 Reasons why you cannot skip watching Neerja this weekend)
