Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have been giving fans relationship goals to their fairytale romance for months now, and to be honest, we’re going crazy over their pictures together. On August 18, the two celebs made their engagement Instagram-official with super-sweet social media roka pictures. Nick was so into the rituals that he can explain Roka ceremony as much as any Indian. That’s exactly what he did on Jimmy Fallon’s show. Nick Jonas finally opened up for the first time about his engagement to Priyanka Chopra. While speaking with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Friday, September 7, the singer-songwriter revealed what all happened in the roka ceremony.
Fallon showed him a picture of the ceremony and asked him what’s going on here. That’s when Nick explains what Roka ceremony is. After getting engaged, the couple participated in a traditional Roka ceremony, which Jonas explained is a “confirmation from both sides of the family that they approve of the engagement.”
“We both left that ceremony so full of joy,” Jonas said, also sharing that his parents were “blown away by the love shared among all the people.” Though Jonas quipped that the celebration was “a little different from Jersey”, it was their ability to have privacy from the spotlight that was the most satisfying.
Jonas added, “For she and I, I think it was just nice to have that time with the family first. Have that private moment then be able to share with the world afterwards”.
