After Padmaavat, Sanjay Leela Bhansali looks in a mood to take a break from Ranveer Singh and cast another actor in his next film. And who can be better than Hrithik Roshan, who worked with him in Guzaarish. According to reports, the filmmaker is ready with the script of his next film, Prince, which will be a period film again and he has finalised Hrithik for the lead role. The two have already met and discussed the dates and other details pertaining to the film.
A source close to the project has told Filmfare that Bhansali and Hrithik had a two hour long meeting to discuss the film and came up with a tentative title – Prince. If all falls in place, this will see the actor-director duo reunite after eight long years. After Guzaarish, Bhansali went on to make Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and the recent Padmaavat – all starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Even after this year’s epic release, the filmmaker had said that he is not done with DeepVeer as yet and want to make more films with them. Therefore, his choice of the male lead in his next comes as a surprise.
Interestingly, Bhansali had also heaped praises on Shahid Kapoor, the other male lead in Padmaavat and said that he wants to do another film with him. Why then he didn’t come to mind for Prince, beats us. Anyway, the last time Bhansali and Hrithik came together for a project, they left us impressed and we cannot wait for them to recreate magic onscreen yet again. Also, since it is a period film, focusing on the male character (given the title Prince), we can imagine Hrithik woo and wow us again with a royal avatar, after Jodhaa Akbar. OMG! This is just getting more exciting than we though! Let’s hope the official announcement comes our way soon.
Hrithik is currently busy with Super 30, has Yash Raj’s untitled action thriller and Krrish 4 in the pipeline and is also touted to be part of Bang Bang Reloaded with Katrina Kaif. Knowing that Bhansali likes his artists to work on only his project when they come on board, perhaps Hrithik will start working on the film after he wraps up the one’s he has in hand. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long.
