Nandamuri Balakrishna and Vidya Balan’s latest film NTR Kathanayakudu, which released today, has become the latest victim of piracy. The film has been leaked by the notorious website Tamil Rockers and the makers of the film are disturbed with the reports of the film being leaked. After receiving positive reviews from the audience, the makers have hoped that film will do good at the box office but now it might it will have a significant impact on the box office collection.

After the news of the film being leaked on Tamil Rockers, fans and the makers have appealed to watch the film in the theatre and not to download it.

This is not the first time as a couple of days back, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s Thugs of Hindostan also fell prey to piracy. Tamilrockers has also leaked Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s film 2.0.

Earlier, big films such as Sarkar, Kaala, Vishwaroopam 2 were leaked by Tamilrockers.

NTR is based on the life of legendary actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR.

Helmed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati Ranganatha, Vishnu Induri under NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram and Vibri Media banners, the music of the biographical drama is composed by MM Keeravani. Rana Daggubati is essaying the role of the current chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, who is NTR’s son-in-law.

There have also been allegations on the TFPC (Tamil Film Producers Council) President of having a share in the Tamil Rockers website. The team of Tamil Rockers keeps changing their domain name constantly and hence they manage to leak every single movie.

Preventing piracy from happening has been a difficult task, and despite laws, it still continues unchecked. The Copyright Act 1957 is applicable throughout India, and under the law, if you are convicted for the first offence, you could be jailed for six months or up to three years. You would also have to pay a hefty fine of Rs 50,000 or Rs 200,000, depending on the crime.

Piracy is a cruel act and there is zero tolerance for it.
