It was indeed a proud moment for all of us when our late veteran actor Om Puri was paid homage at the 89th Academy Awards. The actor today was remembered for all his talents and we just cannot thank the Hollywood fraternity for acknowledging our legend in such an honorable way.  Even few Bollywood actors expressed their gratification to the Oscar Awards. But there is one actor who raised a most valid question after seeing the Academy Awards paying homage to Om ji. He is none other than the very talented Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the Raees actor slammed the Bollywood awards on twitter and raised a valid question, “@TheAcademy #Oscars paid homage 2 late #OmPuri, But in #bollywood award functions nobody converse single word for his contribution… SHAME.” Clearly this tweet by the Manjhi actor will put the Bollywood on shame. We wonder if this tweet by Nawaz will spark anew controversy in B-town or not?

Coming back to an honor to Om Puri ji, his wife Nandita was overwhelmed with this and said, “ The only Indian actor to have worked consistently in Hollywood and British cinema for the last 25 years, without a fuss and letting his work speak for itself, today the Academy of Motion Pictures acknowledged his contribution at its 89th Awards. The first and only Indian actor to be acknowledged this. Thank you, Academy. Thank you, everyone. We miss you, Om. We miss you lots,” said Nandita while talking to an entertainment portal.

Even Sonu Sood took to Twitter and wrote, “Thanku @TheAcademy for remembering #OmPuri sir we miss u sir. #TheAcademyAwards.” Yami Gautam also tweeted saying, “Heartening to see Om Puri Ji paid homage along wid other stalwarts at d Oscars! He wised up us all & will continue to do so #ProudIndian.” Om Puri has done few Hollywood films too and he was also a part of Hollywood film Ghost and the Darkness, which is lauded to be one of his best films.
