The 89th Academy Awards are done. The red carpet has been rolled back and kept in the storeroom until it is time to put it out next February. Hollywood’s biggest actors and filmmakers, who had gathered under one roof for a night of toasts, upsets, grandstanding, and of course the confusion, have gone back home in their expensive cars. And after a magnificent night, an eight-year-old who stole the show has also returned to his country.

Sunny Pawar, the tiny star of the Oscar-nominated Lion, who is basking in the afterglow of the film and his Oscar appearance landed in Mumbai early today morning, and obviously got a grand welcome. As soon as the news of him returning to India broke out, people went in numbers to welcome the young star. Among the fans was present his family as well. Check out the pictures below:

Pawar came to Hollywood’s biggest night dressed in the most adorable tuxedo and a smile that melted a lot of hearts. He claimed the night with his innocence and honesty. While on reel he played little Saroo in the Oscars 2017 nominated Australian drama LION, he reprised the role of Simba from Lion King with host Jimmy Kimmel during the show. Selfie requests poured in throughout the night from Hollywood’s A-listers. It won’t be wrong to say that the boy had the night of his life at the biggest stage in the world.
