The wait is finally over! After spending a restless day yesterday, waiting for Rani Padmavati’s arrival, the first look of the much awaited magnum opus Padmavati is finally here. Until yesterday, fans were clueless about the fate of the film, with speculations around this Sanjay Leela Bhansali period drama’s release date. However, the simple tweets from Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone announcing the arrival of the first look on September 21 put the excitement right back where it belonged.

As expected, the first look is enchanting, intriguing and worth the wait. had exclusively informed you that the film’s poster, teaser and trailer are all ready go out and that team Padmavati will start the promotions this week. With this first look, Padmavati stars have won fans’ hearts and made their wait for the film all the more difficult.

The film’s poster epitomises the adage, der aaye durust aaye (better late than never). Deepika plays Rajputana queen Rani Padmavati in the film and her a lot of research went into getting her look right. We hear, around 200 artisans worked over a year to create the intricate traditional jewellery that she will be wearing in the film. In fact, a picture of Deepika’s look from the film was leaked on the internet last evening, with the actress adorned in some beautiful Rajputana style jewellery and sporting unibrow, giving us an idea of what to expect.

Padmavati was initially slated for a Diwali 2017 release and was then postponed to November 17. Until recently, there were rumours that it is shifted to April 2018, followed by reports that it is now scheduled for a February 9, 2018 release along with Anushka Sharma’s Pari. The film is now slated to release on December 1.

Experts say that upon it’s release, the film might break the records set by Prabhas’ Baahubali : The Conclusion. The film has remained in buzz throughout this year – be it controversies, speculations or the beefed up bodies of the two leading men. We can only expect the craze and wait for Padmavati to reach newer highs as new information and glimpses of the film come out.
