Bollywood actor Sitaram Panchal, best known for his roles in Paan Singh Tomar and Peepli Live is no more. Panchal passed away at around 7:45 am today after a long battle with cancer. The actor was 54. The Peepli Live actor complained of breathlessness minutes before he passed away.
The actor was ailing since long. Earlier while talking to Hindustan Times, his wife Uma was quoted saying, “Ever since the cancer was detected in January 2014, he has taken Ayurvedic treatment. It was only recently that he started a new homoeopathic medicine, following which, his condition worsened and we discontinued the medicines.” He was bed ridden due to kidney and lung cancer for over a year. He took to Facebook and requested people to help him with money so he could afford the treatment for cancer. In his post, he said,”Brothers, please help me, I am suffering from cancer, your actor brother, Sitaram Panchal”
Apart from his, CINTAA also appealed to people to help him. Their post on Facebook stated, “It pains us to hear the suffering of our esteemed member Shri Sitaram Panchal. We assure him of all the help we can provide to him in his hour of need and also urge all of you to open your hearts.” Panchal was a graduate of National School of Drama and was best remembered for his roles in Peepli Live, Slumdog Millionaire, The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Paan Singh Tomar.
