Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala has roped in Pooja Hegde with Salman Khan in his upcoming film Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The producer confirmed the news to a daily and mentioned that he wants a fresh pairing for his film and Pooja perfectly fits the bill. In his latest conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Sajid said Pooja’s earlier collaboration with the banner – Housefull 4 – was successful and he’s sure that she and Salman are going to make a good pair on screen.
Adding that Pooja has an ‘amazing screen presence’, Sajid said the female character in this Farhad Samji directorial is a traditional small-town girl and Pooja has played similar roles in her South Indian films. The producer revealed that her character is ‘polar opposite’ of what Salman is playing in the film and there’s a ‘beautiful mature love story between the two characters.’
“Pooja has played small town roles down South in films like Mukunda, and hence the makers found her apt for the role. Her track acts as the catalyst to the plot,” said Sajid. The film is slated to hit the screens as the big Eid release next year. The team of the film is planning to go on the floors by October. As per the report, both Salman and Pooja will be performing some workshops together before starting the shoot because the makers want them to be comfortable with each other.
Salman, meanwhile, is also hunting for a new story between his 2020 Eid release Radhe and 2021 Eid release Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The 54-year-old actor wants to squeeze in a film between his two big releases towards the end of the year and he is yet to finalise a project. Sajid confirmed the same amid reports that they are also reuniting for Kick 2 which is coming out on Christmas 2021.
