SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Baahubali 2) released in China on May 4 and the beginning has been great. The film earned $1 million in the morning shows and before the end of the opening day, the PrabhasAnushka Shetty starrer has minted $1.20 million, crossing the lifetime business record of Baahubali: The Beginning. The first part of the period saga had made $1.18 million at the China box office in its lifetime collection. And this is just the start. With the buzz around the film only getting bigger in the coming days and with the weekend upon us, SS Rajamouli’s magum opus will set the box office cash registers in China ringing loud and clear.

The film has released in 7000 plus screens in China and trade experts predict that the film’s grand opening, complemented with a good word of mouth will ensure that it makes some path breaking records. Talking about the day 1 box office earnings, trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared on Twitter, “#Baahubali2 has crossed the lifetime biz of #Baahubali ($1.18 Million) in #China.”

Interestingly, the part one of this period war film – Baahubali The Beginning, didn’t impress Chinese audience much. There was no buzz around the film and what it earned in its lifetime run there ($1.18 million) is dismal considering a huge territory like China. It is important to note here, that the $1.20 million figure coming our way about Baahubali 2 box office collection on Day 1 in China is only from the morning and noon shows. The numbers from the evening shows will come our way soon and they will blow our minds for sure. According to estimates, the film should be able to rake in around $3 million on day 1 itself. Will it break records made by other Bollywood films on day 1/opening weekend? We can’t wait to know!
