Saaho, Prabhas’ much awaited project after Baahubali, is finally ready to to start an important schedule in Abu Dhabi. According to reports, the cast and crew have reached the destination yesterday and the shoot will be kickstarted between today and April 12. The team plans to shoot some high octane action sequences during this shoot and our sources say this will be one of the biggest high-points in the film. The makers also want to give audience the glimpse of the scenes shot in Abu Dhabi in the teaser and trailer and that’s the reason why there has been no reveal ever since the initial teaser and poster.
Saaho is certainly a film that is keeping fans in high anticipation. Expectations are huge as well and now, we have some details about the Abu Dhabi shoot schedule that will raise your already heightened curiosity. Planning: It took four months to work on the Saaho sets for Abu Dhabi. While it took 2 months for the planning, it took another 3 months for execution. Around 300 workers from the art department created an urban set work in Dubai under the supervision of ace production designer Sabu Cyril over a period of two months.
Working with the best: Action sequence to be shot in Abu Dhabi is under Hollywood action choreographer Kenny Bates and will involve 120 stuntmen, who have worked in various Hollywood films
Bigger than the biggest: Sabu Cyril, who has worked in London for Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One says that it is more challenging when one has to work out of the country. In terms of working abroad, “Saaho is my biggest overseas project,” he said in an interview to film companion.
Real on reel: The schedule will go on for around one-two months depending on how fast the crew is able to can the scenes. Since it will involve shooting a chase sequence in real surroundings, the pace will have to be slow so as to not inconvenience the locals. For a few scenes, popular landmarks from Abu Dhabi will be recreated so that the director has a controlled environment to shoot in.
The prep: Prabhas has been quite excited about the Abu Dhabi schedule. He has been training for it since the past few months and has been constantly in touch with the production director and action director to know more and more about their plan and understand their vision. He has also undergone special training is some martial arts form and is in top physical form and wants to perform all his stunts himself, without using a body double.
Prabhas’ team: Mandira Bedi, who plays a negative character in the film and Neil Nitin Mukesh, will also be a part of this Abu Dhabi schedule of Saaho.
The scale: Prabhas’ Saaho is a multi-lingual and is being made in a budget of Rs 200 crore and the chase sequence which goes on floors this week is one of the most expensive scenes in the film. And production designer Sabu Cyril in an interview has revealed that it will be a “magical experience on screen” to watch this particular chase sequence in Saaho.
Woah! We are sure your wait for watching Saaho unfold on the big screen has just increased. However, there’s a year long wait ahead of us since the film might only hit screens in Summer 2019.
