After the success of Malayalam movie Premam, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan starrer Telugu remake of Premam is the most awaited movie. Telugu movie Premam is directed by Chandoo Mondeti is all set to release this Dussehra 2016. Premam is produced by S. Radha Krishna and S. Naga Vamshi and and has music by Gopi Sunder and Rajesh Murugesan. The makers of the movie released the trailer of Premam and people are going gaga for Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming.
But when compared with Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi’s original movie Premam, the trailer of Telugu remake looks a tad bit less impressive. Yes, right from the beginning of the time when the first song of Premam was released in Telugu, the Malayalam version looked far more superior that the Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan starrer Telugu remake. The song Evare was unveiled on the occasion of Chaitanya’s father Nagarjuna’s birthday on August 29. Premam’s audio launch was coincided with the birth anniversary of late legendary actor Nageswara Rao.
Naturally the makers of the Telugu Premam have tweaked the movie and the trailer to match with the taste and sensibility of the Telugu movie goers, but while doing so the charm of the movie seems to have lost. The Telugu movie Premam has also got a tagline; Lose stories end, feelings don’t. The makers have managed to twirl in the whole gist of the movie into the tagline. The story of Premam is the protagonist’s relationship with three different girls during three different phases of his life. The Telugu version of Premam have replaced the original lead characters Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi with Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan. The rest of the female cast; Madonna Sebastian, and Anupama Parameswaran have been retained from the original movie. But only if Sai Pallavi and Nivin were also retained the movie would have been far more better than this all glamour no substance movie.
Although Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan have a huge fan base and also have a glamourous appeal, they might mess up the essence of the movie. Shuti cannot match the demure, shy raw character of college lecturer. Also somewhere or the other, Naga Chaitanya seems to be out of the place in the different phases shown in the movie. Fans of the original movie Premam, have already started mocking this remake version of the film with jokes and memes online. Only if the two lead actors can now give a convincing performance to match up to the level of the original Malayalam blockbuster movie Premam. The Telugu remake of Premam is finally going to release in October after much delay since the makers of Premam postponed the project so as to avoid a clash with Naga Chaitanya’s other movie Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo.
