Years ago a child artiste took the whole world by surprise with his acting skills and his portrayal of Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi. Does it ring a bell? Yes, its Darsheel Safary we are talking about who had mesmerised us all with his character in the Aamir Khan starrer ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and had made a solid place in our hearts. He continued to act in movies even after ‘Taare Zameen Par’, like ‘Bumm Bumm Bole’, ‘Zokkomon’ and ‘Midnight’s Children’. These were not big commercial successes, but Darsheel did make us go ‘wow’ with his acting skills.
After he took a break from working in movies, he took shelter in theatre. Darsheel, a BMM student from HR College, has acted in numerous plays throughout his school and college days, but made his debut on commercial stage with director Abhishek Pattnaik’s play ‘Can I Help You?’ at the NCPA. In the play along with him were stalwarts of theatre, including Dalip Tahil and Anant Mahadevan who were also a part of the play, and Darsheel had said he couldn’t have asked for better co-stars. “These people are textbooks of drama. All I need to do is watch and learn and hopefully, be as good as them in future,” he had said.
And now the all grown up Darsheel is back in news for his upcoming movie, titled ‘Quickie’. The movie is about a teenage love story, that has Darsheel in the lead role. The movie will be directed by Pradip Atluri and will be jointly produced by Tony D’Souza, Amul Vikas Mohan, Nitin Upadhyaya. Nothing is known about the film’s female lead yet, but we are more than excited to see Darsheel on the screen again. Recently trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the poster of the film where we can see Darsheel with a confused expression on his face. The movie’s tagline is ‘No buffering, no suffering’. (ALSO READ: Aamir Khan is my mentor: Darsheel Safary)
Here, check the poster of the film. Well, not much can be told about the film from the poster.
Darsheel was also seen in the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ in 2012 where he showed off his dance moves. He also appeared in a television show when he did an episode called ‘Sun Yaar Try Maar’. Though he has never been away from his love for acting and the camera for long, but with ‘Quickie’, we will be seeing him on the big screen after a long time.
