Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon’s Raabta has dipped further at the domestic box-office as the film managed to earn only Rs 2.25 crore on day 5, taking its total to Rs 20.71 crore. Sushant and Kriti paired up on the big screen for the first time, and people had a lot of expectations from the film, but unfortunately the weak re-incarnation plot neither impressed the critics, nor the masses. But still the film, which was released in over 1800 screens performed well over the weekend as on the first day, it earned Rs 5.61 crore, and Rs 5.11 crore and Rs 5.21 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. But then it failed the Monday test, as the movie managed to collect Rs 2.53 crore that day and dipped further on Tuesday.
In fact, much surprisingly, Hollywood film, The Mummy starring Tom Cruise has performed better than Raabta even though it got lesser number of screens. Raabta marks the directorial debut of producer Dinesh Vijan. Our film critic, Smrity Sharma in her 2 star movie review wrote, “Watch it if you are a Sushant Singh Rajput fan. For non-fans his chemistry with Kriti Sanon will see you through! There is nothing new or unpredictable about the story so nothing much there! In fact, it will give you a major throwback to Mirzya, which in itself was an unimpressive film! Dinesh Vijan has captured the beauty of Budapest and Vienna decently and the film might give you wanderlust.” Our in-house critic Smrity Sharma in her 2 star movie review wrote, ” ALSO READ: Raabta movie review: Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon’s impeccable chemistry makes this old wine in new bottle palatable
