Indian audience is a huge fan of the court room drama. Indian audience is also a huge fan of patriotic drama. What if both the things get clubbed? Yes, Tigmanshu Dhulia is back with an unconventional film named ‘Raag Desh’ that will show the court case from the era of Independence. Starring Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah in the lead, the film shows the trial which was during the world war 2. The much talked about red fort trial will once again be remembered through this film whose trailer has been getting amazing response.

The movie is based on the trial on three Indian National Army officers named Colonel Prem Sehgal, Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, and Major General Shah Nawaz Khan. They were charged with ‘waging war against king’ and then later on handed over to Japanese imperial army. The film also focuses on Subhash Chandra Bose’s Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind and we can hear the famous line by the freedom fighter, ‘Tum mujhe khoon do, me tujhe azaadi dunga’.

Paan Singh Tomar director Tigmanshu Dhulia told IANS, “We all know that the winner writes the history. In this film, I explored the contribution of the INA in our freedom movement. But no, to kill everyone’s interest, Raag Desh does not deal with Bose’s mysterious death.” He also mentioned that he was a great fan of history in his early days.
