Race has been a successful franchise; After the success of the first two installments, Race franchise, with Salman Khan on board for the third installment, has just got bigger, becoming one of the most anticipated films of the year. While the film is bankrolled by Producer Ramesh Taurani, Khan is also one of the co-producers of Race 3 and we must say that the makers are making the most of the star power that the actor brings to the action thriller. Speculations run rife that the makers are eyeing a whopping Rs 150 crore for the film’s satellite rights.
Yes, you read that right, In a statement to Mid-Day, a source revealed, “Salman Khan’s last outing Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) had earned around Rs 70 crore from the satellite rights, which was said to be the highest price paid for a Bollywood film. With the actor joining the cast of Race 3, Taurani and he are looking at doubling the figure. After a few talks, the duo has decided that they will offer the airing rights at Rs 150 crore.”
Khan and Taurani are in no mood to reduce the price; Rs 150 crore is the fixed price. An insider told the leading daily that a leading channel had offered Rs 75 crore for airing rights of the film, but the producers have turned down the offer. Starring an ensemble cast of Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Saquib Saleem and Daisy Shah, the action thriller is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films. Bankrolled by Salman Khan Films and Ramesh Taurani under the banner of Tips Films, Race 3 is helmed by Remo D’souza and will hit theatres on Eid 2018.
