Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz’s Raid released last Friday and has been doing well since then. The film made an impressive Rs 41.01 crore in the opening weekend. Ajay’s latest offering has already beaten the first week collections of films like Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte’s Pad Man (Rs 62.87 crore) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (Rs 45.94 crore) as Raid earned Rs 72.31 crore within the first week of the film’s release. On it’s second Sunday, the film continued to do well as it added another Rs 7.22 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to update the film’s latest box office numbers. He wrote, ” #Raid is SUPER-STRONG in Weekend 2… Gathers speed on second Sat and Sun… [Week 2] Fri 3.55 cr, Sat 5.71 cr, Sun 7.22. Total: ₹ 79.53 cr. India biz.” The film is inspired by real-life IT raids that were conducted by the officers of the Indian Revenue Service in the 80s.

Rani Mukerji’s Hichki also released on Friday and so far, the film has made Rs 15.35 core in its opening weekend. Will this affect the box office run? Well, it remains to be seen as the two films have entirely different audiences. But going by the current numbers, we are sure Raid will enter the Rs 100 crore club at the end of this week.
