Ajay Devgn‘s latest outing Raid, which registered one of the biggest openings of 2018 and saw a good growth over the past week, witnessed a dip in the collection on Friday after the release of Rani Mukerji’s Hichki, but was back on track over the weekend. Good word of mouth seems to be the reason for its box office success. Helmed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the period crime thriller, which also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles, is inspired by real-life I-T raids (high profile income tax raids) that were conducted by the officers of the Indian Revenue Service in the 1980s.
Looks like Ajay Devgn’s film is slowly inching towards the coveted Rs 100 crore club; it has now earned Rs 84.36 crores. According to Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, the film managed to earn Rs 2.41 crore on Tuesday, thus, taking its total collection to Rs 84.36 crore in just nine days.
