Kunal Deshmukh’s Emraan Hashmi and Humaima Malick starring con caper Raja Natwarlal hit the screen this Friday with an average response. The film, we gather, netted Rs 6 crore on the opening day which is not impressive considering the fact Hashmi’s earlier ventures The Dirty Picture and Jannat had collected Rs 10 crore and Rs 8 crore respectively at the collection centers on the opening day.

Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani is giving a tough competition to the Hashmi’s movie. Thanks to a good mouth publicity Mardaani has raked Rs 25 crore so far and is going steady with its box office number. It’s indeed a remarkable achievement for a project that rides soley on the shoulders of a mainstream actress with no big male star featuring in it. With this weekend comprising three holidays in a row, thanks to the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the trade experts were expecting good collections for Raja Natwarlal but so far response to the Hashmi’s movie has been rather lukewarm.
