Rajinikanth’s much awaited film Kaala Kaarikalan has finally got a release date post the TFPC called off the strike. But the first film to release in the theatres was Karthik Subbaraj, Mercury, starring Prabhu Deva. The film couldn’t be screened earlier in Tamil Nadu despite its release on April 13th. But if there was regrets or complains that the director and the Mercury team had about this delay, we are sure they are all good now. The team got the best gift possible when superstar Rajinikanth himself watched the film. Not just that, he also shared his review about the films.

Sharing information about the same, an exited and elated Karthik Subbaraj shared, “So happy!! Thalaivar watched #Mercury and loved it… He met the team , appreciated every aspect of the film and said it’s “Super Padam”…. Great to hear these words from #Superstar #Rajinikanth himself (sic).” What makes this all the more special, is that Karthik is all set to direct Rajinikanth in his next untitled film, his fifth in the industry. The director has said in an earlier interview that it was the love for Rajni that made him join movies. And now, to have him watch a film he has done, review it and then do a film with him is all like a dream come true.

But this is not the first film directed by Karthik that has impressed the 2.0 star. Rajinikanth had watched Karthi’s directorial debut film Pizza (2012) as well and had called him specially to congratulate for his efforts. No wonder then, the director is on cloud 9 today!
