Kangana Ranaut starrer Simran’s teaser hit the internet a few days ago and the fans are geared up for another quirky performance from her. But even before the Trailer came out, the film is already engulfed in controversy, thanks to the makers of the film. Writer Apurva Asrani and director Hansal Mehta have been stuck into a war of words over the ‘writer’s credit’ given to Kangana. After Apurva accused Hansal of being ‘spineless’ and Kangana a ‘liar’. Rajkummar Rao, who has worked with Mehta in films like City Lights, Shahid and Aligarh, came out in support of the filmmaker. The Behen Hogi Teri actor is all positive about Hansal and says that he has faith in him!

While talking to spotboye.com, Rajkummar Rao revealed, “I don’t agree to that statement. I don’t think he is spineless at all. He (Hansal) could have kept making the kind of films he was making, but he took a sabbatical of 4 years, and came back to tell stories that he believed in, and to give voice to people who were voiceless. I am with him (Hansal) always. I believe in the kind of films he makes. I think Apurva (Asrani) is hurt, of course. But I think they both will just talk and sort it out.” ALSO READ: Vidya Balan takes a jibe at Kangana Ranaut-Apurva Asrani ‘Simran credit controversy’

Now, the fact that Rajkummar Rao will be seen in a Hansal Mehta film ‘Omerta’ next is motivation for him to take Mehta’s side? Also, how can we forget Rajkummar and Kangana’s ‘Queen’ connection? However it can be noted that even though he took their sides, he also tried to understand Apurva’s point of view. Well, now that Rajkummar Rao has come out with his opinion, we wonder who else agrees with him and Simran team. Whom do you support? Post your opinion in the comment section below.
