We have Venkatesh weild the camera and VT Vijayan edit the film. The prequel of the film, that released in 2003 had Vikram and Trisha in the lead. Actor Kota Srinivasa Rao essayed the role of an antagonist in that film, while the sequel will have Bobby Simha in the negative role. In this film he seems to be sporting an older look quite similar to the one in Jigarthanda.

Meanwhile, take a look at the trailer below :

In 2004, Saamy was remade in Telugu as Lakshmi Narasimha. It was there again also remade in Bengali as Barood in the same year, and in the following year as Ayya in Kannada and then as Policegiri in Hindi, which featured Sanjay Dutt and Prachi Desai. Saamy Square will release on June 14 this year. This comes a refreshing change as Vikram was last seen in Vijay Chander’s Sketch. Apart from Saamy Square, he is currently working on Dhruva Natchathiram, with Gautham Menon. He is however collaborating with Hari, the director of Saamy Square, after Arul in 2004.
