Sachin: A Billion Dreams makes you meet more than just the cricket legend and meet the shy, romantic, emotional and goofy side of the sports star!
Here are five such lesser known aspects of Sachin Tendulkar life that Sachin: A Billion Dreams introduces us to.
How Sachin controls his emotions:
Be it beating stress at a low point in life or keeping the adrenaline rush in check during a high – Sachin resorts to listening to one song on loop for hours on end. This is his way of controlling extreme emotions. His go-to song is music director and singer Bappi Lahiri’s yesteryear popular number – Yaad Aa Raha Hai Tera Pyaar.
These words before a game always irked Sachin:
Sachin hated it each time someone amongst his coach or his team or his colleagues wished him ‘good luck’ before a match. He got really irked at this. In fact, he liked to have his music on and not interact with any one a couple of hours before a game.
At the time of the 2011 World cup final in Mumbai, Sachin and Virendra Sehwag were in the dressing room while the boys played on the pitch outside. The star didn’t let Sehwag get up from where he was sitting for a good few hours. Not even to drink water or go to the washroom. Also, we came to know about another superstition where if on the first day of a tournament he had coffee or green tea and the team performed well, he would stick to just that the entire tournament! When he is not playing or prepping for a game:
Sachin loves to travel and that includes all types! He doesn’t mind the mode or the place he is traveling to. He also loved to go on long drives – sometimes with wife Anjali and sometimes alone as he finds it very relaxing. In fact, Sachin is very fond of cars and owns some of the most expensive mean machines! Now, that only explains his love for long drives, right? Sachin is a phenomenon and there are very few places in the world where he can step out without creating a chaos. How does he escape from the mundane then? Sachin and his family take off to vacations abroad every now and then. They choose the most interior country side where they can just be themselves without attracting any media attention.
But there is still a lot to Sachin Tendulkar – the personality – that you would meet in the 168 minutes of the film Sachin: A Billion Dreams. Have you watched it yet? Share your review with us in the comment section below.
