Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 grabbed eyeballs for some obvious reasons. The movie featuring actors Mahie Gill, Jimmy Sheirgill and Sanjay Dutt was one of the most anticipated films of the year. It is directed by filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia and once again has a story revolving around betrayal, lust and deceit. Though the film has powerful actors like Jimmy and Sanjay but seems like critics are not impressed with it. Here’s what they have to say about the film.
NDTV (2/5): Sheirgill’s performance was up to the mark but female roles were underwritten. Mahie Gill justified her part; Soha Ali Khan hardly has two and a half scenes. Chitrangda Singh played Uday Pratap’s mistress and she has comparatively longer role. However, her character does not have development.
Hindustan Times (1/5): The movie looks similar to cringe-worthy television soap where people are plotting against each other. Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 is a question mark on filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia’s otherwise satisfactory filmography.
Indian Express (2/5): Sanjay Dutt as the gangster is the weakest link of the movie. Despite whistle-worthy introduction, he fails to impress. The makers have invested money in order to make the film look plusher but it fails to be on point.
India Today (1.5/5): The movie is the combination if sex, power and backstabbing but fails to have a compelling narrative. With his powerful performance, Jimmy Sheirgill steals the limelight from Sanjay Dutt.
