Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, Sanam Teri Kasam is a romantic drama which released along with Sunny Deol’s Ghayal Once Again. The trailer looks satisfactory and the cast looks promising. However, will newbies Harshvardhan and Mawra leave a lasting impression? Let’s find that out.
The concept of Love has been wrongly defined in Bollywood movies hereby giving us false hopes right from the start. The story of Sanam Teri Kasam relies on the age-old concept of boy-meets-girl who are totally opposite each other and the girl somehow manages to transform the boy into a better human being and also reunites him with his family. The story of Sanam Teri Kasam is about a girl named Saraswati (Mawra), who is the ideal sansakari beti of her khadoos father. Her only aim in life is to not do anything against the will of her father. She is innocent, submissive and all the good things in the world. Inder (Harshvardhan) on the other hand is a bad boy with a rough past living in the same society. Saraswati’s father intends to get her married to an IIT-IIM grad but he gets the idea that his daughter is in love with this gunda who is an unsuitable match for Saraswati. And therefore, the father decides to cut all ties from her.
It has lately become a trend in movies to show at least one person with some life-threatening disease who eventually dies and a drunkard who just cannot do without alcohol. Sanam Teri Kasam is no exception to that trend.
The film is satisfactorily bearable in the first half but is an absolute torment in the second half. Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane look good together and it seems like they do have a bright future in Bollywood. Apart from that, the plot of the film is utterly disastrous.
