Sanjay Dutt‘s biopic, titled Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor is perhaps one of the most anticipated films of the year. The trailer has managed to grab a lot of attention due to Ranbir’s uncanny resemblance with the Khalnayak star through each of his phases. The trailer that was unveiled a few weeks ago also managed to grab a lot of attention. According to sources, Sanjay Dutt has been deeply moved by the trailer, which is high on emotions and which encompasses the tumultuous life of the actor.
The source was quoted by DNA as saying, “Right after the trailer’s release, he received a barrage of phone calls in response to his unbelievable life story. Friends and well-wishers were surprised to learn about the lesser-known instances of his life and he turned nostalgic.” The actor has apparently not even once interfered or asked about the onset progress when the film was being filmed. He is even unaware about the script that was written after Rajkumar Hirani, the film’s director, recorded 200 hours of conversation with the actor.Apparently the film has been made without any filtration and Sanjay reportedly trust Hirani’s vision.
Latest reports suggest that the makers wanted to hold a special screening for Dutt but the actor declined it. The source added, “An emotional Sanjay has decided to watch the film only when it releases in theatres. He wants to relive his life as an audience member. There are a lot of instances that he is looking forward to watching, especially the memories with his parents.” Helmed by Hirani and bankrolled by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film also stars, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushik, Manisha Koirala and Dia Mirza in the lead. The biopic is slated to hit screens on June 29 this year.
