Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju featuring actor Ranbir Kapoor performed well not only in India but is minting money overseas as well. The movie has set a benchmark of for all the upcoming films. Lately, it has also surpassed the lifetime collection of Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2 in Australia. Now, it has become the third highest grossing Hindi film after Padmaavat and Dangal. The box office numbers were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media.
Sanju is based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt. It has earned Rs 341.22 crore so far and has also surpassed the record of Aamir Khan’s PK. The latter earned Rs 340.8 crore.
Trade analyst Taran took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “This is MASSIVE… #Sanju crosses *lifetime biz* of #Baahubali2 [Hindi] in AUSTRALIA… Now THIRD HIGHEST GROSSING *Hindi* film.

Sanju is still going strong in India and is giving tough competition to latest releases like Fanney Khan and Mulk.
The movie received positive response from cinema lovers. Ranbir and Vicky Kaushal were praised for their spectacular performances. However, some people also criticized Hirani for calling Sanju his strategy to whitewash Sanjay’s image. But box office numbers have given the verdict.
On a related note, apart from Vicky and Ranbir, Sanju also featured Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.
