Sasural Simar Ka (SSK) fans are in for some bad news as the show is all set to bid adieu this month. It had a successful run for more than six years and now its ready to wrap up on September 19.  The show that was based on the lives of two sisters– Simar (Dipika Kakar) and Roli (Avika Gor) witnessed several changes in the last six years. Shoaib Ibrahim who used to essay the role of Prem quit the TV show in two years, followed by Avika Gor and Manish Raisinghan, who left the show too. This year, actress Dipika Kakar shocked everyone by exiting the show as it was almost unimaginable to picture someone else other than her essaying the role. She was later replaced by Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar who gradually fit into the role.

While its needless to say that the entire star cast is upset with the show coming to end, Rohan Mehra who recently joined the show is one of them, although he admits that it didn’t come as a shocker to him. In an interview with Times Of India, the young actor said, “We have been told that the show is going off air early this month. I am not shocked, as these rumours had been floating even before I became a part of it. Honestly, I had thought twice before taking it up, but every project involves a certain amount of risk. Come to think of it, there are new shows that end within a month as well. So, ‘SSK’ has been a short yet great journey for me, as I got to play a different character. There are no regrets; it’s better to be part of a show, which is ending on a high note.” (ALSO READ: Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi To Return, Sunil Grover Hospitalised, Kapil Sharma’s Show Goes Off Air: Television Week In Review)

Although he doesn’t regret having joined the show, he has reportedly made up his mind on one thing–that he will only take up new projects and will never enter a show midway. The leading daily quoted him as saying, “I would love to do a new show next time around, as I have thrice entered already running shows — ‘Bade Achhe Laggte Hain’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’. While all three have been successful, I feel that the experience of associating with a show right since its inception is different and I would love to experience it.”
