It is Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan’s 32nd birthday today (February 17) and to make the occasion special for all his fans, the makers of his next film, Seema Raja, released the first look of the film. Directed by Ponram and produced by R. D. Raja, the film stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu (Samantha Akkineni) in the female lead role and Napoleon, Simran, Soori, Rajendran amongst others in pivotal roles. Seema Raja is touted to be a drama, made in Tamil and also set to release in Telugu as Chinna Babu.
The film went on floors in 2017 and was initially planned for a Diwali 2017 release. However, the first look poster has now revealed that Seema Raja will now hit screens on another auspicious occasion – Vinayak Chaturthi 2018. The delay is said to have been caused since the makers wanted their star Siva to be free from his other commitments like Remo (2016) and Velaikkaran (2017) so that he could focus entirely on Seema Raja. While there were speculations that the film is a period drama, the makers have denied all such reports.
Seema Raja marks the third outing of this producer-director-actor team after the successful Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam (2013) and Rajini Murugan (2016). While we are yet to see Samantha’s look in the film, she is all set to pack a punch with her role. There are reports that the actress learnt the the art of Silambam (weapon based martial art from India) for her role.
As of now, almost 60 – 70 per cent shoot of the film is complete and the crew will soon get down to shooting the last and final schedule to leave enough time for post production and promotional planning.
