In a recent interview with a leading news organisation Bollywood megastar, Shah Rukh Khan, not only confirmed that Aamir Khan will be seen playing the role of Krishna in his next project Mahabharat but has also dismissed the rumours of the project being shelved with this confirmation. In what is being considered as a cautious step after the drastic failure of his recent release Thugs of Hindostan, Aamir is taking time to officially announce his next big project.
After stepping down from Gulshan Kumar’s biopic Mogul, due to sexual harassment charges levied against director Subhash Kapoor, it was reported that Aamir had even put down Saare Jahaan Se Accha as he is occupied with Mahabharat. In an interview with DNA, Shah Rukh was asked to pick from a list of roles that he might like to take up in future including the role of Krishna from Mahabharat to which the actor replied, “Krishna from Mahabharata has already been taken by Aamir so I will not be able to do that.”
It is also heard that Aamir’s team is developing Mahabharat as a seven-part web-series though there is no confirmation from the Dangal star. He will reportedly be flying to America with his team to ideate and adapt the story. The series/movie is speculated to not have any known actors as the 3 Idiots star wants all new and fresh faces.
Earlier, Aamir had said in an interview that he is keen to make Mahabharata but is afraid of starting the project but it seems like the actor has finally convinced himself into splurging a whopping Rs. 1,000 Crore into his mythological drama. The magnum opus is also reported to be co-produced by Reliance headhoncho Mukesh Ambani.
